After successful service over Europe during World War I, and as a training & private-use plane, Qantas took delivery of its first aircraft, the Avro 504K, in 1921. This single-engine wooden structured bi-plane carried 2 passengers, and was used for joy flights, air taxi services, and promoted the future advantages of air transport to thousands of Australians. |
